Mumbai City FC and Xylem, the club’s Official Water Technology Partner, organized a football-based water education festival at Indo Scot’s Global School in Kamothe, Navi Mumbai. This collaborative event aimed to inspire the next generation to work together in keeping the environment clean, using football as a tool for positive change.

The festival brought together around 250 young participants, both boys and girls, alongside 40 community coaches and supportive parent volunteers, all playing a vital role in making the event impactful and memorable.

During the two-day festival, Mumbai City FC and Xylem held a series of workshops for community coaches and parent volunteers. These sessions were designed to equip them with knowledge and tools to promote water awareness within their local communities.

The festival featured six interactive pitches, each hosting unique and engaging football-based games designed to educate and entertain young players. Through a rotational format, every player experienced all the sessions. Two pitches were dedicated exclusively to Xylem’s WASH [Water, sanitation and hygiene] Curriculum, teaching children how small actions– like using water wisely and disposing waste responsibly – can have a big impact on our water resources and health.

A workshop for parents emphasized the role of sports and education in a child’s development and featured a session on water education. Xylem representatives further engaged attendees with a “Water Education Quiz” to reinforce the importance of sustainable water practices.

Xylem and Mumbai City FC have been in partnership since 2021 working together to leverage the power of football in raising awareness of responsible water use and inspire fans to take positive water actions.

Kandarp Chandra, CEO of Mumbai City FC, commented:

"Our continued partnership with Xylem reinforces our commitment to meaningful community engagement in Mumbai, extending beyond football. By engaging youth, coaches, and parents through events like these, our partnership helps educate communities on the importance of respecting our water resources in a fun and impactful way. We’re proud to work with Xylem in inspiring young people and their families to adopt sustainable practices, and we look forward to bringing this initiative to even more communities in the future."

Helen Lewis, Senior Manager, Brand Partnerships, Xylem:
