Mumbai City took the field in Kolkata against the CISF Protectors, focused on getting a positive result. Despite a spirited effort, the Islanders went down fighting 2-0.

Captained by Mohd Kaif Ansari, the Islanders looked to make an early impact, but they were pegged back as Santosh Kumar scored past goalkeeper Harsh Kadam. From then on, Mumbai City fought brilliantly against CISF and kept them at bay. The Islanders stitched together a few good moves but were unable to find the back of the net at the other end of the ground.

The contest continued in a similar manner in the second half, with the Islanders looking to catch the opponents out but were unable to add the finishing touches. However, the Islanders looked good in defense and thwarted the attacks from the Protectors. Trailing 1-0 deep into the game, CISF Protectors scored again when Sahil Kumar found the back of the net to get all three points.

The Islanders will face Punjab FC in the next game on August 11 at 4 PM.
